Job summary

City of Hampton is seeking a Program Coordinator – School Age Programs to lead daily operations of multiple SAP sites in partnership with Hampton City Schools. You will supervise staff, coordinate activities, and ensure high-quality educational and recreational experiences for children and families.

The role involves staff coaching, program planning, vendor relations, and community outreach to boost participation and program impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university.
Three years of experience in child development, education, and recreational youth services.
At least one year of supervisory experience.
Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certificates; NCTRC certification within 6 months.
Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise staff teams delivering educational, enrichment, athletic, and recreational activities at multiple school sites.
Plan, coordinate, and manage program schedules and special events, including working with vendors and community partners.
Support behavior management by meeting with parents/guardians to address inappropriate behavior or disciplinary concerns.
Facilitate team meetings and staff training to build skills and improve performance.
