Job summary

Crossroads YMCA in Hammond, IN is seeking a School Age Director to lead before/after school and camp programs, guiding a large team across multiple sites. This hands-on, mission-driven role focuses on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, with emphasis on safety, community engagement, and operational excellence.

The position requires strong leadership, relationship-building with families and schools, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of three years of leadership experience in youth development or school-age programming.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supervising, developing, and motivating employees.
• Ability to build relationships with children, families, schools, and community members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other business technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of before/after school and camp programs.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, schedule, and develop staff.
• Foster an inclusive, welcoming culture for children, families, and staff.
• Implement curriculum to meet YMCA standards and licensing requirements.
• Build partnerships with schools and community organizations.
• Monitor enrollment, participant satisfaction, and program quality.
