Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our After School Programs within the Birmingham School District for the 2026–2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with an afternoon shift from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, and includes employer-paid childcare benefits. Applicants should be 18+, have a HS diploma, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred.
• Health clearance including TB screening per state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
