Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our After School Programs within the Birmingham School District for the 2026–2027 school year.

Location includes multiple schools in the Birmingham Alabama School District. Position is part-time, non-exempt, with a schedule following the school calendar, typically 2:30 PM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, per state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, etc.).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
