Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Age Childcare Assistant Site Director at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School in Newton, NJ. The role supports before- and after-school programs with morning and afternoon shifts aligned to the school day.

Part-time, non-exempt position offering employer-paid childcare and a schedule that follows the school calendar for the 2026-2027 year.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
• Some lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required.

• Program quality: kids are engaged, safe, and having fun each day.
• Staffing: site fully staffed; teachers are prepared, supported, and present.
• Compliance: operate in ratio; records are accurate; ready for inspection.
• Inventory: keep supplies stocked; restock before shortages.

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 - 8:15 am

Afternoon Program: 3:00 - 6:00 pm

• Inventory: The site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need; nothing runs out mid-week; restocking happens before it becomes a problem

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred
• 1-3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
• Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
• Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
• Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.

Salary Description

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
