Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs in Newton, NJ is seeking part-time School Age Childcare Staff for Marian E. McKeown Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Jobs align with the school calendar with morning (7:00–8:15) and/or afternoon (3:00–6:00) shifts.

Salary is $16.00 per hour, with employer-paid childcare and a range of benefits including telehealth, vision and dental coverage, 401(k), paid sick time, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
• Ability to meet physical demands (bending, lifting up to 50 pounds) and engage with energetic children
• Strong interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and serving as a positive role model
• Observing state guidelines and program policies; assisting with attendance, registration, and staffing as needed

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Programs at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
