Job summary

Southern District YMCA is hiring for Group Leaders to support a licensed school age child care program at assigned site(s) in Exeter and surrounding towns in New Hampshire. You will assist the Site Coordinator in running activities, ensuring safety, and building relationships with children and parents.

Responsibilities include leading engaging activities, maintaining program spaces, and coordinating with the on-site team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age children or 600 hours in related settings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities to engage students in fun, educational activities.
• Respond to individual needs of children in a positive, nurturing way.
• Maintain spaces that meet program needs and safety standards.
• Create a positive atmosphere that boosts self-esteem.
• Use positive behavior management to guide children.
• Maintain positive relationships with families and staff.
• Attend required meetings, events, and trainings.
• Be flexible with location transfers as needed by the Program Coordinator.
• Promote teamwork and a welcoming program culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
