Job summary

Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge is seeking a Scholarship Counselor to support communications with current and prospective students and families, advising on donor and university scholarships, and resolving inquiries.

Under the Assistant Director's oversight, you will provide frontline customer service, coordinate with colleges, process award disbursements, and maintain accurate scholarship records across multiple units within Enrollment Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; relevant experience in student services preferred.
• Experience in higher education student services preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to prospective and current students, families, and departmental contacts via phone, email, or in person.
• Present scholarship information at orientations and other events.
• Serve as liaison between the office, faculty, staff, students, and the public regarding scholarships.
• Review and process scholarship documents, aid packages, and awards in SAE and related systems.
• Maintain scholarship records, assist with disbursement decisions, and support audit readiness.
