Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage and optimize appointment scheduling for patients and physicians within the hospital or medical facility.

You will coordinate appointments, procedures, and treatments across departments to ensure efficient use of resources and high-quality patient care, serving as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification preferred.
• 0-2 years in medical scheduling or front desk.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments for consultations, tests, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Notifies patients of appointment confirmations, cancellations, or reschedules.
• Accurately enters and updates patient information in the EHR/scheduling system.
• Works with medical staff to align appointments with clinical priorities.
• Tracks and manages patient cancellations and no-shows.
• Provides general administrative assistance including referrals and files.
