Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced scheduling specialist to support patient scheduling, financial clearance, and pre-registration across multiple facilities. You will verify insurance eligibility, coordinate complex diagnostic testing scheduling, and start the patient billing process to ensure smooth hospital services.

The role requires 2–5 years in scheduling or patient access, proficiency with registration/accounting systems, and certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

Job description

• Support customer relations, physician relations, patient care, and hospital business services through administrative and scheduling work for multiple areas
• Perform pre-registration, scheduling, electronic insurance eligibility verification, and accurate identification and collection of patient financial responsibility
• Handle complex scheduled events, including high-dollar testing and associated studies with study-specific instructions
• Communicate with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service
• Begin the overall patient experience and initiate the billing process for hospital services
• Schedule complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities and states
• Schedule for multiple facilities with significant variations in protocols

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) to Five (5) years experience in area of expertise such as scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
• National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
• Must be proficient in the use of Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software systems
• Specialist II requires comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems
• Demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes
• Minimum of five plus (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to schedule complex facility based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states
• Ability to schedule for multiple facilities with significant variants in protocols
