Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrates compliance with the Code of Conduct and compliance policies, taking action to resolve questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Coordinates patient scheduling; verifies insurance and authorizations.
- Identifies patients using proper methods of retrieving patient history and information.
- Reviews clinic referral work queues to ensure correct linkage of referrals and appointments; may schedule supportive care appointments.
- Reviews upcoming schedules for signed and active orders, authorizations, follow-ups, and incomplete items; updates accounts with accurate information from health plans.
- Uses automated scheduling technologies to communicate, confirm, and update patient visits.
- Performs confirmation calls collaboratively with clinic support staff.
- Identifies expiring orders and notifies clinic staff for renewal.
- Assists in monitoring clinic readiness according to standards, if applicable.
- Collaborates with Patient Financial Services to ensure current and appropriate authorizations and referrals, if applicable.
- Uses reports to identify patients without appointments, recalls, no-shows, etc., if applicable.
- Registers patients and maintains compliance; verifies and updates patient information accurately.
- Collects co-pays/deductibles based on insurance information; provides receipts, if applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
