Able Heating and Air in Culpeper, VA is seeking an experienced Service Dispatcher to organize our technicians' daily schedules, inform customers, and keep the service calendar running efficiently.

This fast-paced role requires handling changing priorities, solving problems, and clear communication under pressure. We offer $20.00–$25.00 per hour, Monday–Friday, with seasonal overtime and a benefits package including medical insurance and paid vacation.

Qualifications

Scheduling Coordinator

Able Heating and Air in Culpeper is looking for an experienced Service Dispatcher to keep our technicians organized, our customers informed, and our daily service schedule running efficiently.

This is an important, fast-paced role for someone who can confidently manage changing priorities, solve problems, and keep multiple moving pieces on track. Compensation:

$20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Seasonal overtime may be required from May through October.

Position Summary:

The Service Dispatcher coordinates our technicians' daily schedules and helps ensure every customer receives timely, professional service. You will prioritize incoming calls, assign the right technician based on skill level and location, monitor jobs throughout the day, and adjust the schedule as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule, prioritize, and dispatch service and maintenance calls
• Monitor technicians' progress and adjust schedules throughout the day
• Keep customers updated regarding arrival times, delays, and job progress
• Prepare estimates, schedule approved work, and coordinate return visits
• Work with warehouse staff to ensure technicians have the necessary parts and materials
• Maintain accurate customer records, job notes, invoices, timesheets, and dispatch tickets
• Track open work orders and follow through until each job is completed
• Assist with workload planning, maintenance scheduling, and parts ordering
• Work closely with technicians, managers, and office staff to support efficient daily operations

Qualifications:

• At least two years of administrative, process-management, or project-management experience
• Experience in HVAC or a similar trade industry is preferred
• Previous dispatching experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool service, or another service trade is strongly preferred
• Experience with dispatching or field-service software is preferred
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple calls and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Friendly, customer-focused attitude
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, managers, and office staff
• Dependability and availability to work the required schedule, including seasonal overtime
