Job summary

Stockton Nursing Center is seeking a Scheduler/Staffing & Central Supply Coordinator to ensure proper nursing staff coverage and supply availability for resident care. You will create monthly to daily schedules, monitor staffing needs, manage the central supply inventory, and coordinate ordering and delivery of essential items, while ensuring compliance with regulations and facility policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active CNA certification in the state.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations and guidelines applicable to long-term care.
  • Ability to understand, control, and track direct spending budgets.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, vendors, and facility leadership.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, including weekends, holidays, and/or other shifts or positions when necessary.

Responsibilities

As a Scheduler/Staffing & Central Supply Coordinator, you will play an important role in ensuring that our facility has appropriate nursing staff coverage and the necessary supplies and equipment to provide high-quality resident care. You will coordinate staff schedules, monitor staffing needs, maintain supply inventory, and ensure that supplies are ordered, received, organized, and readily available.

Staffing & Scheduling Responsibilities
  • Create and monitor monthly, bi-weekly, and daily nursing staff schedules in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage to support quality resident care.
  • Monitor staffing needs and assist with finding coverage for open shifts, call-offs, vacations, and other staffing changes.
  • Maintain accurate staffing records and schedules.
  • Ensure scheduling practices comply with applicable government regulations and facility policies.
  • Communicate scheduling changes and staffing needs effectively with the nursing team and facility leadership.
  • Support smooth daily operations by identifying and addressing staffing concerns promptly.
Central Supply Responsibilities
  • Maintain and organize the facility's supply inventory.
  • Manage the ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of central supply items, including briefs, over-the-counter medications, gloves, gowns, and other necessary supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and anticipate supply needs to prevent shortages.
  • Stock the facility with necessary supplies and equipment in a timely and organized manner.
  • Assist with claims related to returned merchandise, damaged products, incorrect shipments, or shipping errors.
  • Maintain accurate records of supply orders, inventory, and related expenses.
  • Follow established supply practices, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and track direct spending budgets related to supplies.
Must Have
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to long-term care.
  • Knowledge of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to understand, control, and track direct spending budgets.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, vendors, and facility leadership.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, including weekends, holidays, and/or other shifts or positions when necessary.
Nice To Have
  • Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, nursing facility, or healthcare environment.
  • Previous scheduling or staffing coordination experience.
  • Experience with inventory management, purchasing, or central supply.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with healthcare staffing and supply management systems.
