Job summary

APR Consulting, Inc. is recruiting a Scheduler for a healthcare facility in Ventura, CA. The role focuses on scheduling surgeries and patient appointments, coordinating with physicians and staff, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.

The position requires 2 years of healthcare scheduling experience, a HSD/GED, and familiarity with health system software (Cerner EMR, IQueue). It is a 13-week assignment with a daytime schedule and vaccination requirement for new hires.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a similar role within healthcare facility.
• MUST have surgery scheduling experience.
• HSD/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Answering and triaging calls- directing to appropriate individuals or departments.
• Scheduling surgeries, operations and appointments
• Perform insurance verification functions.
• Calendaring using the outlook application.
• Process and track all incoming and outgoing referrals and reviewing the Referral Work Queue and screening New Patients.
• Sorting and deposition of mail and patient information in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations following facility standards.
• Interact with patients, providers and other caregivers within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
• Provide patients with generic preoperative information sheets and advise patients of preoperative surgical and financial requirements.
• Uploading patient imaging.
• Assist in all work assignments.
• Ad-hoc duties as needed.

APR Consulting, Inc. has been engaged to identify a Scheduler.

Location: 300 Hillmont Ave Ventura, CA 93003

Position: Scheduler

Pay Rate: $25.86/hr

Duration: 13 weeks with possibility of extension depending on the business needs.

Expected Shift: Day 5×8-Hour (07:30 – 16:00)

Required Years of Experience (preferred)

• 2 years of experience in a similar role within healthcare facility. MUST have surgery scheduling experience.

Education Required

• HSD/GED required

• Ability to establish and maintain a productive working relationship with faculty, staff, administration, and patients
• Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment

• Ability to use health system computer systems, and utilize the various resources and tools effectively

Daily Case Load

• Scheduling patients for surgeries, appointments, etc.
