Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Scheduler to support complex construction and production scheduling in Newport News, VA. You will develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6, and other tools, with focus on critical path and milestones.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of scheduling experience in construction or production.

We are seeking a Scheduler to support complex construction and production scheduling efforts in Newport News, VA. This role will work closely with construction, production, and project teams to develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules. The Scheduler will be responsible for capturing field and production data, integrating schedule updates into Microsoft Project and other project scheduling software, and supporting critical path analysis to ensure project milestones and production goals are achieved.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working alongside construction teams in the field, understands the physical execution of work on the deck plate, and can translate project plans into detailed network schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for construction and production activities.
• Collaborate with construction and production teams to gather schedule inputs, work sequencing requirements, and progress updates.
• Build and maintain schedule networks, including logic ties, dependencies, and resource-loaded activities.
• Utilize Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software to create and manage project schedules.
• Perform schedule analysis, monitor progress, and identify impacts to milestones and project deliverables.
• Conduct Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and provide recommendations for schedule recovery and optimization.
• Capture field and production data and incorporate updates into project schedules.
• Support planning efforts associated with moving work packages through various stages of construction and production, including transitions between different project phases and work locations.
• Work closely with project leadership to communicate schedule status, risks, potential delays, and mitigation strategies.
• Generate schedule reports, metrics, and progress updates for stakeholders.
• Ensure schedule accuracy and alignment with project objectives and production requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of scheduling experience in a construction, shipbuilding, industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
• Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera, Artemis, or similar scheduling tools.
• Experience creating and managing network schedules and activity relationships.
• Understanding of schedule logic, dependencies, milestones, and resource planning.
• Experience performing critical path analysis and schedule impact assessments.
• Physical ability to work directly with construction and production teams in the field and on the deck plate.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
