Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking an experienced Scheduler for large, complex projects with hybrid on-site work in Sterling, VA. You will lead planning activities, develop schedules, and drive baselines, narratives, and schedule analyses to support project teams.

The role requires 6+ years in planning & scheduling, strong Oracle P6, and proficiency in MS Office. You will communicate risks, mentor staff, and collaborate with operations to deliver results.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of planning & scheduling experience in engineering or construction.
• Mission Critical/Data Project experience preferred.
• Proficient with Oracle P6 Professional.
• Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
• Bluebeam, Autodesk Build and Box familiarity.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Effective communication with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning & scheduling efforts and assist teams in preparing schedules and status reporting.
• Establish baselines, draft narratives and perform variance, float and delay analysis.
• Forecast project schedule in line with cost and manhour projections.
• Drive change management to document scope and schedule changes on each project.
• Communicate risks to on-site personnel and management for proactive action.
• Possibly supervise and mentor Planning & Scheduling team members.

POSITION SUMMARY

Scheduler is typically assigned to large complex and fast paced construction projects which require hybrid work on the job-site. Willingness and enthusiasm to work on-site directly with the project team is critical. Must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. Must develop relationships with operational personnel to drive process and deliver results.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Leads planning & scheduling efforts and assists project teams in the preparation of project schedules and has ability to progress schedule status that facilitates subcontractor and owner reporting
• Has ability to establish baselines, draft narratives and perform variance, float and delay analysis
• Ability to forecast a project from a schedule perspective and align with cost and manhour projections
• Drive change management process to properly document scope and/or unforeseen changes related schedule on each individual project, assisting with the incorporation of fragnets and TIA preparation
• Clearly communicate when risk factors arise on a project to on-site personnel and/or upper management to ensure proactive action is taken.
• May supervise and mentor Planning & Scheduling team members

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• 6 Years of Planning & Scheduling experience related to engineering or construction
• Mission Critical//Data Project experience preferred and desired, but not required.
• Proficient with Oracle P6 Professional
• Intermediate skills in MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer*
• Basic skills in Bluebeam, Autodesk Build and Box
• Ability to effectively manage and communicate workload with all members of the team. *
• Effective time management and organizational skills while paying attention to detail*
• Ability to identify, track, and complete work tasks in a timely manner
