Job summary

Olympic Medical Center on Washington’s North Olympic Peninsula is seeking a Schedule and Charge Entry Clerk to handle scheduling and charge capture for surgery, endoscopy, recovery, and anesthesia in the EMR.

The role requires a high school diploma (Medical Terminology certificate preferred or demonstrated knowledge), strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, EMR), and prior scheduling/charge-entry experience; evening and night shift premiums apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Medical Terminology Certificate required, or able to demonstrate a working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures.
• Knowledge of computer software including Outlook, Word, SmartSheets and current EMR.
• Hospital or clinical scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic charge capture and vendor relationships preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient cases and verifies patient charges in the EMR.
• Provides scheduling and charge entry for surgery, endoscopy, recovery room, and anesthesia procedures.

The Schedule and Charge Entry Clerk demonstrates a working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital surgical/endoscopy procedures, and demonstrates initiative and responsible judgment in recognizing and reporting significant situations within scope of position.EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.
