Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to manage the scheduling of surgical cases across pediatric to older adult patients in the OR and GI Lab. You will coordinate external vendor services and ensure accurate daily charges and monthly statistics.

The role requires strong clerical and computer skills, medical terminology knowledge, and excellent English communication. OR experience is preferred and a current BLS certification is required on hire.

• Checks, enters and reconciles daily patient charges.
• Prepares and distributes monthly surgical statistics.

Coordinates and confirms the acquisition of services, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel. Checks, enters and reconciles the daily patient charges. Prepares and distributes the monthly surgical statistics. Updates the Surgery Schedules and completes the required Log Book. Answers phones and appropriately communicates messages. Assists OR Director and Charge Nurse with additional clerical duties. Works with coworkers, other departments and outside companies, assisting with the provision of safe, efficient and quality patient care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.44 to $23.81. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
