Job summary

City of Stamford is seeking a qualified professional to oversee daily scalehouse operations, weighing, ticketing, and classification of materials. You will supervise cash handling, revenue reconciliation, and reporting while ensuring compliance with fee schedules and internal controls.

The role requires an Associate’s degree with several years in cash handling and scalehouse work; municipal experience is desirable. Flex scheduling and scalehouse environment exposure are part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, public administration, or a related field with three years in cash handling, financial reconciliation, operations coordination, or related area.
• Three or more years of experience in scalehouse operations.
• Experience in municipal operations, revenue collection, or scalehouse/transfer station operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees weighing activities, revenue collection and reconciliation.
• Ensures staff apply fees based on weight, material type and fee schedules.
• Monitors traffic flow and operational efficiency for safe site operations.
• Performs daily reconciliation of receipts and investigates discrepancies.
• Prepares deposits and revenue reports per City procedures.
• Maintains financial records and supporting documents for audits.
• Maintains and supports scale and POS systems and data reporting.
• Acts as contact for customers, contractors, and vendors regarding fees and billing.
