The Richmond Group USA is seeking a Chemical Engineer for the Greater Charleston area to drive scale-up from development to full-scale manufacturing and to optimize processes. You will join a collaborative team focused on manufacturing excellence and materials science.

You will lead projects to increase yield and throughput, troubleshoot complex production issues, and apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to reduce variability and improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to scale formulations from lab to commercial manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and structured root cause analysis.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Optimize manufacturing processes including mixing, compounding, coating, curing.
• Lead process improvements to increase yield, throughput, and product consistency.
• Scale new formulations from development into production.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues using structured methods.
• Collaborate with chemists, operations, quality, and manufacturing engineering.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives with measurable plant impact.
