Job summary

Software Placement Group is hiring a Process/Production Engineer for an on-site role in Mount Pleasant, SC. You will support batch and continuous chemical operations, drive process improvements, and ensure adherence to EHS/PSM regulations across plant unit operations.

Ideal candidates have a BS Chemical Engineering and 3+ years in PSM/chemical plants, with Lean/Six Sigma familiarity and hands-on experience with P&ID and MOC processes.

Qualifications

• BS Chemical Engineering degree.
• 3+ years as Process/Production Engineer or Leader in PSM/chemical plants.
• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, PHA, MOC and P&IDs.
• US work authorization without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day production support for batch and continuous chemical operations.
• Track production yields and perform mass balances.
• Lead process improvement projects.
• Manage continuous improvement efforts in safety, productivity, quality, reliability and cost.
• Support process downtime and runtime.
• Participate in production and material planning, packaging, shipping and receiving.
• Participate in PSM initiatives and audits.
• Lead incident investigations and problem-solving sessions on safety, quality, production and reliability.
• Assist with training of operations teams.

Overview

A global chemical manufacturer is expanding its Chemical Process Team and seeking a Process/Production Engineer to support plant unit operations, drive continuous improvement, assist with process and product startups, and ensure adherence to EHS/PSM regulations. This role is based on-site in Mount Pleasant, SC.

What you'll do

• Provide day-to-day production support for batch and continuous chemical operations, including troubleshooting and problem solving of process and equipment issues
• Track production yields and perform mass balances
• Lead process improvement projects
• Manage continuous improvement efforts in safety, productivity, quality, reliability, and cost
• Support process downtime and runtime
• Participate in production and material planning, packaging, shipping, and receiving
• Participate in PSM initiatives and audits
• Implement change management processes including MOC, PSSR, P&ID, hazard reviews, SOPs, SPC, and SQC
• Lead incident investigations and problem-solving sessions covering safety, quality, production, and reliability
• Assist with training of operations teams

What you'll need

• BS Chemical Engineering degree
• 3+ years of experience as a Process/Production Engineer or Leader in PSM/chemical operating plants
• Preferred experience with Lean/ Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, PHA, MOC, and P&IDs
• Familiarity with process unit operations and controls, including reactors, distillation, polymerization, esterification, filtration, dryers, twin-screw extrusion, and heat treatment
• Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
