Job summary

Gerdau is seeking a Scale Operator in Murray, Kentucky to monitor and control incoming and outgoing vehicles and shipments. You will use scale and software systems to accurately weigh, document, and route loads, while maintaining thorough records and ensuring safety procedures across the yard.

The role reports to the Division Manager and requires strong MS Office skills, clear communication, and the ability to work with drivers, dispatch, and maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS Office skills and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent telephone and customer communication skills.
• Ability to recognize materials and plan distribution at the scale.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in controlling incoming/outgoing vehicles, shipments, and containers using scale and software systems.
• Accurately weigh and document loads on scale tickets, bills of lading, and packing slips.
• Maintain daily records of purchases and sales transactions and ensure proper paperwork and data entry.
