Cleveland-Cliffs’ Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) in Cleveland, OH, is hiring a Scale Clerk. In this on-site role you will weigh inbound and outbound vehicles, inspect loads, determine material grade, and direct shipments to the correct area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in scrap industry preferred.
• Computer experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound and outbound vehicles and inspect loads.
• Determine material grade and enter into inventory system.
• Operate and maintain forklifts and other mobile equipment.
• Maintain scale house and grounds; prepare paperwork.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers.
• Communicate with customers, management, and yard staff.
• Ensure safety standards and PPE compliance.
• Research local markets and assist in purchases.
