Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT), a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs, is seeking a Scale Clerk at our Pontiac, MI location. The role involves weighing all inbound and outbound vehicles, inspecting loads, and directing them to unloading areas while supporting in purchases and maintaining accurate records.

Candidates should have a HS diploma and good math/data entry skills; scrap-industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in scrap industry preferred.
• Strong math and data entry skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound and outbound vehicles and record accurate data.
• Inspect loads for correct description, weight, and grade.
• Direct vehicles to unloading areas and coordinate with carriers.
• Maintain scale equipment and prepare shipment papers.
• Assist in processing purchases and keep records organized.
