Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs – Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Scale Clerk to weigh inbound/outbound vehicles, inspect loads, and assist with purchases. You will enter grades into the inventory system, direct loads, and maintain scale house operations.

The role requires safety consciousness, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to work with carriers and customers in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided to develop the team’s potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in scrap industry preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards and PPE usage, keep site clean.
• Accurately inspect materials for correct weights and grades; enter into system.
• Direct loads to unloading areas and prepare paperwork for shipments.
• Operate and maintain forklifts and skid steers as needed.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and training to team.
• Answer questions about materials, pricing and procedures.
