Job summary

Performance Contracting Group seeks an experienced Soft Crafts Estimator for its Houston branch operations based in Pasadena, TX. You will handle soft crafts estimating for scaffolding, insulation, and coatings, performing takeoffs, establishing labor productivity, and managing pricing with vendors and subcontractors.

The role requires 2+ years of estimating experience in construction, proficiency with takeoff software and MS Office, and the ability to read drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience estimating construction projects (soft crafts).
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction (scaffolding, insulation, coatings).
• Ability to read specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
• Strong customer relationship skills and cost analysis capability.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
• Establish labor productivities for estimates.
• Maintain relationships with area vendors for pricing.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for work outside of self-performing group.
• Understand market conditions to establish margins.
• Participate in internal bid reviews and customer alignment.
• Assist in change orders, billings, and transitions to Operations.
