Job summary

Atwell, LLC in Michigan is seeking a mid-level Electrical Field Engineer (SCADA) to perform Engineering Field Services with a SCADA focus and to assist with Engineering Design and Analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, delivering high quality service on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include performing equipment and relay testing, setting up relaying and control systems (SEL RTACs), testing SCADA configurations, and preparing field reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 1–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of medium/high voltage power systems with SCADA.
• Experience with IEC61850, DNP3, MODBUS, or other SCADA protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs equipment, control system, communications, troubleshooting, relay testing, start-up, and commissioning services.
• Assist in detailed design of electrical power systems including one-line diagrams and SCADA wiring.
• Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems, specifically SEL RTACs.
• Install, program, and tests communications, SCADA, and PLC systems, primarily SEL RTACs.
• Produce configuration files for IEC61850 (GOOSE), DNP3, or other SCADA protocols.
• Perform SCADA and relay field testing and commissioning services.
• Provide field assistance and troubleshooting for SCADA systems (SEL RTAC, Ignition, PLCs).
• Prepare field testing, troubleshooting, investigation, and construction progress reports.
• Maintains strong client relationships and adheres to Codes and Standards; commit to safety and quality.
• Willing to work additional time beyond 40 hours/week as required.
