Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a SCADA & Automation Engineer for the Oil & Gas group to lead design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and support of SCADA and automation systems under PE supervision. You may also contribute to protection & control, electrical design, and power system studies across projects.

Responsibilities include configuring SCADA systems, RTAC logic, IEC 61850/DNP3/Modbus protocols, and delivering high-quality, compliant engineering deliverables while coordinating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an accredited institution.
• 3-8+ years of engineering or field experience in SCADA, automation, substations, protection & control, or industrial electrical systems.
• Experience configuring and commissioning SEL RTACs, protective relays, and SCADA systems.
• Experience developing RTAC logic, communications mappings, data concentrator applications, and protocol conversions.
• Experience configuring, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting IEC 61850, DNP3, and Modbus.
• Working knowledge of substation automation, industrial networking, SCADA architectures, and protection & control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, program, test, and commission SCADA systems, PLCs, RTACs, HMIs, protective relays, and industrial networking equipment.
• Develop RTAC logic, protocol conversions, data concentration, alarm management, and HMI visualization for industrial and oil & gas applications.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols including IEC 61850, DNP3, and Modbus.
• Prepare detailed design deliverables: one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Travel for field assignments, startup support, and client meetings as required.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams through project execution.
