Job summary

Consumers Energy in Michigan is hiring a SCADA Engineer to design, configure, and maintain our real-time control systems for electric grid operations. You will work with EMS/ADMS on the Emerson DGM platform, integrating field devices and ensuring secure, reliable performance.

This hybrid role requires onsite days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Jackson, MI location, with relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 2+ years in SCADA/automation.
• Alternative: Associate Degree with 4+ years in SCADA/automation.
• Alternative: High School Diploma with 6+ years in SCADA/automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop operator-facing dashboards and automation scripts for situational awareness and real-time decision-making.
• Configure and maintain SCADA and HMI systems including alarms, trends, and historian data.
• Integrate SCADA with RTUs, IEDs, sensors, and databases using DNP3, Modbus, OPC.
• Troubleshoot and maintain reliable real-time operation.
• Test, validate, and commission SCADA components with operations teams.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity to ensure secure SCADA integration.
• Document configurations, changes, and compliance for audits (NERC CIP, TOP, FERC SOC).
• Provide 24x7x365 rotating on-call support.
• Other duties as assigned.
