Job summary
Three Valleys Municipal Water District seeks a hands-on SCADA Electrical Technician to support operation, maintenance, and reliability of control systems across water treatment and distribution facilities.
The role requires troubleshooting skills, independent work, and collaboration with operations and engineering. Candidates should have experience with SCADA, PLCs, and electrical infrastructure, plus willingness to learn and adapt.
Qualifications
- Two years' experience with SCADA/PLCs in utility or water/wastewater
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational/college coursework in electrical, instrumentation, automation preferred
- SCADA/PLC programming experience preferred
- Wonderware experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, install, and maintain SCADA/PLC/DCS systems.
- Develop and modify automation controls and HMIs.
- Troubleshoot SCADA software, firmware, and hardware issues.
- Perform software and firmware upgrades on OT devices.
- Maintain alarm and safety protocols and cybersecurity measures.
- Provide training and support to field staff.
- Participate in planning and design reviews for control systems.
- Coordinate with IT on cybersecurity and integration efforts.
