Job summary

Amador Water Agency seeks an Instrumentation/Electrical Technician at entry to lead levels to operate, interface, install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical, electronic and computerized equipment used in water and wastewater treatment systems, and to conduct integration and networking. The role includes telemetry radios, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs and data historians.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of technical college education and three years' experience, or equivalent.
• Formal training in instrumentation, control systems and electrical equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic equipment in water and wastewater facilities.
• Troubleshoots, calibrates and repairs instrumentation and control equipment including valves, actuators, regulators and recorders.
• Programs and configures electrical and process control equipment such as PLCs and HMIs; supports SCADA integration.
• Directs and oversees contractor work and inspects progress and completion.
• Performs 24-hour on-call standby duties and assists in system upgrades and capital projects.
