Job summary

City of Atlanta is seeking a senior CCTV/SCADA/DCS Operations Engineer to lead the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CCTV, SCADA and DCS within the Department of Watershed Management. This role requires 24/7 on-call coverage and rotation among a small team, with oversight of server, network, and device configurations.

You'll liaise with Security and Network teams, monitor system performance, implement security measures, and maintain detailed documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a computer or industrial systems related field.
• 3 to 4 years of related work experience with SCADA and DCS systems in Water or Wastewater treatment facilities.
• Strong understanding of computer systems with the aptitude to learn about SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads the installation, reception, and configuration of servers, networks, and equipment.
• Conducts continuous maintenance and upgrades to the CCTV, SCADA and DCS systems.
• Coordinates with Security and Network team to ensure successful project delivery
• Stays abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in CCTV, SCADA and DCS systems.
• Monitoring system performance and data communication
• Install firewalls and networking equipment to ensure security of the CCTV, SCADA and DCS systems from cyber threats
• Troubleshoots equipment and software to repair and diagnose any malfunctions in the system including fiber, Cat6 and low voltage devices.
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves complex technical issues with CCTV, SCADA and DCS systems
• Manages and maintains access to CCTV, SCADA and DCS system management access ensuring only authorized personnel can access the systems
• Maintains documentation of all maintenance logs, testing, troubleshooting procedures and system configurations
• Ensures compliance with all safety standards and practices.
