Job summary

DeKalb County in Georgia seeks a skilled technician to install, maintain, calibrate, and repair electronic instruments and process control equipment used in water and wastewater facilities.

You'll work on telemetry systems, SCADA, flow and measuring equipment, and programmable logic controllers, with opportunities to design or automate systems and perform field labor. Must have Associate’s Degree in Electronics and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience maintaining analog/digital industrial control equipment
• Experience with instrument calibration and repair is preferred

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs, repairs, and expands telemetry systems and integrates with other hardware/software
• Calibrates and troubleshoots flow and measuring equipment (pH, conductivity, temperature, turbidity, chlorine, DO)
• Performs setup, programming, calibration, and troubleshooting of VFDs, control valves, pumps, alarms, and level monitoring systems
• Maintains and analyzes malfunctions of SCADA systems and related instrumentation loops
• Performs programming changes and upgrades on PLCs and logic troubleshooting
• Assists with design of new control systems and automates old ones
• Performs manual labor tasks: installs equipment, pulls wires, replaces parts, cleans up work sites
• Operates calibration/test equipment, meters and hand tools
