Job summary

DeKalb County Government in Decatur, GA is seeking a lead technician to install, program, maintain, calibrate, and repair electronic instruments, SCADA and energy management systems in water and wastewater facilities.

This safety-sensitive role requires leadership of maintenance teams, design and integration of new controls, and hands-on troubleshooting of instrumentation including PLCs, telemetry, and process measurement devices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with relevant control equipment experience.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot analog and digital industrial controls.
• Experience with SCADA, telemetry, PLCs and related instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance projects and guide junior technicians.
• Test processes and recommend SCADA system improvements.
• Design and integrate new controls and testing equipment.
• Program, install, repair, and expand telemetry systems.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot sensors (pH, conductivity, temp, etc.).
• Install and maintain variable frequency drives and pumps.
• Repair and analyze control loops and instrumentation.
• Research and assist with new control system designs.
