Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Electrical/SCADA Engineer for the Cortez operation. The role focuses on supporting SCADA systems, electrical monitoring, and controls across mine power distribution and process infrastructure.

This position emphasizes field orientation, practical automation skills, and collaboration with operations, IT/OT, and vendor teams. The engineer will help improve system visibility, alarm quality, data reliability, and operational response, while supporting commissioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting SCADA, controls, automation, or electrical systems in heavy industrial/mining settings.
• Experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting live operational systems in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Support configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of SCADA systems, RTACs, PLCs, HMIs, and data devices.
• Assist with SCADA point mapping, alarm configuration, and historian data validation.
• Troubleshoot field data issues, communication failures, and control system interface problems.
• Support integration of electrical equipment into SCADA systems, including switchgear, meters, and substations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and vendors to improve alarm quality and system reliability.
• Develop and maintain SCADA documentation (point lists, diagrams, narratives).
