Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Cortez operation in Nevada. The role focuses on planning, designing, and delivering small to mid-sized projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborating with operations, environmental, and project teams.

Ideal candidates bring a BS in engineering, experience with pump/pipeline systems, instrumentation and control, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Mining, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with pump/pipeline or industrial process systems preferred.
• Knowledge of project management including coordinating contractors and contracts.
• Understanding instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Execute project planning, justification, engineering, design and implementation.
• Develop project cost estimates and forecasts.
• Provide engineering and design input to consultants and contractors.
• Coordinate with internal teams through planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
• Communicate with Operations, Environmental, Safety, and project sponsors.
• Assist with procurement of equipment, materials, and contracts.
• Ensure safety is prioritized and standards are met.
• Provide input for environmental reporting and process data analysis.
• Perform pump, transformer sizing and support electrical requirements.
• Design and size pipelines and associated process systems.
• Analyze and report project and operational data to management.
• Support telemetry and automation projects for monitoring and control.
• Troubleshoot issues and recommend reliability improvements.
