Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Protection & Power Systems to lead protection across mine power systems up to 120 kV. You will own relay settings, fault analysis, and coordination, while supporting commissioning and project delivery at the Cortez operation.

The role requires expertise in ETAP, SEL/GE relays, RTAC, and SCADA interfaces, with a focus on safe, reliable, and maintainable protection across generation, transmission, and distribution assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Significant protective relaying and device coordination experience required.
• Experience with ETAP, GE Enervista, and RTAC interfaces preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead protective device coordination, short-circuit, and arc flash studies.
• Develop and document relay settings, time-current coordination, and protection philosophies.
• Provide technical ownership for protection platforms and SCADA points.
• Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and energization of protection systems.
• Review contractor deliverables for capital projects and ensure safety standards.
