Job summary

Automatic Systems Co. seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to design and program PLC and HMI for municipal water and wastewater SCADA systems. You will lead startup, commissioning, and customer coordination for large-scale projects, including field tests and FAT, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires travel (days and overnights) within the Midwest and NW Iowa region, strong PLC/HMI expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years programming in industrial automation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write PLC and HMI programs for municipal water/wastewater SCADA systems.
• Lead control system startup and commissioning across projects.
• Coordinate with customers and field personnel throughout design, startup, and support phases.
• Support cybersecurity and network best practices in industrial environments.
