Job summary

North State Bank seeks an SBA Business Development Officer to grow government lending opportunities and fund SBA/USDA loans. You will build relationships with business owners, accountants, and community partners while promoting the bank’s full range of lending products.

Residence in NC, SC, FL, GA, MS, or TN is required for consideration; you will manage the loan process from inquiry to closing and collaborate with underwriting and servicing teams to ensure a smooth client experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of government lending experience in a community bank or similar organization.
• Strong knowledge of SBA and government lending regulations and programs.
• Proven business development and relationship management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Drive new SBA and USDA lending opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, referral partners, and community organizations.
• Develop marketing initiatives to expand lending opportunities in targeted markets.
• Assist in promoting the bank's products to support long-term client relationships.
• Develop, evaluate, and submit government-guaranteed loan applications for SBA/USDA programs.
• Guide borrowers through the lending process from inquiry to closing, coordinating with underwriting and servicing teams.
• Maintain a robust referral source database and foster centers of influence.
