Job summary

North State Bank in Raleigh, NC is seeking an SBA Business Development Officer to lead the identification and submission of SBA and USDA loan opportunities, building partnerships with small businesses and referral partners. The role emphasizes prospecting, market development, and guiding borrowers through the lending process with our underwriting and servicing teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five or more years of government lending experience.
Strong knowledge of SBA and government lending regulations and programs.
Proven business development and relationship management skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Generate SBA and USDA loan opportunities through prospecting, referral development, and outside calling.
Build and maintain relationships with business owners, referral partners, and community organizations.
Develop marketing initiatives to expand lending opportunities in targeted markets.
Promote the bank's full suite of products to support long-term client relationships.
Develop, evaluate, and submit government-guaranteed loan applications for SBA/USDA programs.
Guide borrowers through the lending process from inquiry to closing with underwriting support.
Monitor loan pipelines and provide timely updates to management.
