Job summary

HomeTrust Bank seeks an experienced SBA Business Development Officer to source a government guaranteed loan pipeline and structure lending opportunities. You will perform initial credit analysis, pricing, and processing for SBA/USDA programs while actively developing relationships with small business clients and bank partners.

The role requires strong knowledge of SBA SOP, regulatory compliance, and the ability to work independently to grow the bank's government guaranteed lending portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant SBA lending experience.
• Must have recent SBA loan origination experience with an SBA preferred lender.
• Strong knowledge of bank loan policies, procedures, and credit management.
• Familiarity with SBA SOP and loan programs; excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the outward facing representative of the bank regarding SBA and USDA Financing, and manages the loan process.
• Develops customer relationships, cross-selling loan, deposit, and other banking products.
• Analyzes financial statements and determines initial qualification of loan programs.
• Collects required documentation to process, underwrite, and close SBA loans.
• Proactively initiates business contacts to develop relationships and promote bank products.
• Maintains a government guaranteed loan pipeline.
• Counsels customers on SBA/USDA financing needs and completes loan applications reviews.
• Analyzes customer status against SBA/USDA requirements to determine feasibility.
• Identifies opportunities for referrals to other bank services.
• Works with Portfolio Manager to collect outstanding items for guarantee preservation.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
