Job summary

HomeTrust Bank seeks an SBA Business Development Officer to source government-guaranteed lending opportunities and structure loans in line with bank guidelines. You will analyze financials, manage the SBA/USDA loan process, and promote related banking services to business customers.

The role requires 8+ years in SBA lending, a bachelor’s degree in business/finance, and a proactive, compliant, solution-oriented mindset. Strong relationship-building and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including SBA lending experience.
• Must have recent experience originating SBA loans with an SBA preferred lender.
• Technically savvy with a curiosity and comfort with various computer systems and online/mobile banking options.
• Demonstrates knowledge of credit analysis functions and related requirements and procedures.
• Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance, including fair lending laws.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Serves as outward facing SBA/USDA financing expert from initial application through closing and funding.
• Develops customer relationships and cross-sells loan, deposit, and other banking products.
• Analyzes financial statements and counsels clients on credit suitability and initial qualification.
• Collects documents for processing, underwriting, and closing SBA loans with internal support teams.
• Initiates business contacts to develop relationships and promote bank products.
