Position: Business Development Officer - Banking
Location: Remote, USA
A leading nationwide lender specializing in SBA 7(a), SBA 504, USDA B&I, express loans, asset-based loans, commercial real estate loans, and commercial construction loans is seeking a Business Development Officer. The role involves oversight of all aspects of Small Business Administration (SBA) customer relationships, including business development, risk management, operations, underwriting, and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate SBA loans, equipment leasing, and Asset-Based Lending (ABL) transactions for small businesses nationwide.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers targeting small business owners.
- Utilize networking and referrals to generate leads and identify potential borrowers.
- Expand market presence in assigned locations and markets.
- Promote the bank's entrepreneurial lending philosophy and its benefits to small business owners nationwide.
- Collaborate on marketing and sales strategies with leadership and marketing teams.
- Generate leads, prepare financing applications, submit loan packages, and present credits to the Credit Committee.
- Identify credit opportunities and present funding solutions.
- Secure customer commitments post-approval and coordinate funding with operations.
- Achieve annual production targets.
- Use Salesforce and other systems to support deal flow.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of sales experience in financial services.
- Strong SBA industry experience.
- Proven ability to generate over $20MM annually in production over the past three years.
- Marketing, risk management, credit, and commercial lending skills.
- Knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and loan structuring.
- Basic understanding of SBA Loan Programs.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship management and business development skills.
- Active referral network preferred.

Expected salary: $90K-$100K OTE: $450K-$600K
