Lockheed Martin is seeking a Ground Systems Engineer in the United States to provide technical direction for on-orbit mission support and to analyze telemetry for performance validation. The role requires ensuring robust software operation across Linux, UNIX, and database environments while collaborating with Space Force and contractor teams.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot complex systems, participate in software testing, and maintain system health, backed by a strong security clearance

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with senior technical management.
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to navigate the Linux file system using common commands.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II Certification or greater (CompTIA Security+).
• Strong communication and team motivation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for on orbit mission support and plan for critical malfunctions.
• Analyze satellite telemetry to assess performance and validate software.
• Utilize system software for spacecraft control and suggest improvements.
• Perform flight length orbit adjust and daily studies.
• Maintain software across Linux, UNIX and PC environments.
• Provide PostgreSQL and SYBASE administration support.
