Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) seeks an experienced Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to develop, integrate, and test satellite ground system solutions in a mission-focused environment.

The role requires deep systems engineering expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, software, controls, and other domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 18+ years of experience; Master’s degree adds years.
• PhD accepted with 12+ years of experience.
• Experience leading and overseeing complex, high-risk engineering programs.
• Proven ability to communicate under pressure and lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering expertise and technical guidance on feasibility, requirements, risks, and system impacts.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering across software, hardware, and support teams to ensure alignment and schedule compliance.
• Manage system engineering activities including requirements development, design and analysis, integration, and verification/testing.
• Identify and mitigate technical and programmatic risks with robust strategies.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor capabilities to meet system-level requirements.
• Support proposals and business development through technical leadership and customer engagement.
• Collaborate directly with Government customers on a daily basis.
