Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer to validate our satellite’s ability to endure launch and Low Earth Orbit. You will coordinate end-to-end test campaigns, working with systems, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure mission readiness.

The role requires hands-on testing, data interpretation, and ownership in a fast-paced R&D environment, with opportunities to optimize test processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct hands-on environmental testing experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute TVAC, vibration, and shock tests on satellites.
• Coordinate logistics with internal teams and external test facilities.
• Oversee environmental test vendors during off-site campaigns.
• Support instrumentation setup (thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges) and DAQ.
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and feed feedback to design teams.
• Maintain internal environmental test infrastructure and safety compliance.
• Lead root-cause analysis of test anomalies and failures.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation.
• Serve as SME on environmental test equipment and methods.
