Job summary

AST SpaceMobile in Midland, TX is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer to validate our satellite's ability to survive launch and Low Earth Orbit, ensuring performance under TVAC, vibration, and shock conditions.

You will own end-to-end test campaigns, coordinate logistics with internal teams and external facilities, oversee instrumentation and data acquisition, analyze results, drive corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement of test processes in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of hands-on environmental testing experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability systems.
• Knowledge of NASA GEVS, MIL-STD-810 or equivalent.
• Experience with TVAC chambers and vibration tables (sine/random).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform TVAC, vibration, and shock testing on satellites and components.
• Coordinate logistics with internal teams and external test facilities.
• Oversee environmental test vendors during off-site campaigns.
• Support instrumented test setup (thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges) and DAQ systems.
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and provide feedback to design/manufacturing.
• Own and maintain internal environmental test infrastructure.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolve test anomalies.
• Contribute to process and documentation improvements.
• Serve as SME on environmental test equipment and methods.
