Job summary

SES Space & Defense in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Satellite Operations Center Technician to monitor and support our global satellite network. You will work on Tier 1 and 2 tasks, handle iDirect TDMA/IP systems, and contribute to 24/7 operations alongside a mission‑driven team.

The role requires strong TCP/IP networking, SATCOM/RF expertise, and ticket management, with a path to professional growth. A High School Diploma or higher, 5+ years SATCOM experience, and clearance readiness are preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; associates degree or higher preferred.
At least 5 years of SATCOM experience or equivalent combination.
Experience with iDirect Hub solutions, TCP/IP and SATCOM/RF concepts.
One year of education or related network operations center duties.
Security+ certification within 90 days of hire.
Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCDA/CCDP) or CCDP preferred.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor satellite and network performance to provide Tier 1/2 support.
Remotely troubleshoot VSAT systems via iDirect software.
Resolve broadband IP issues and support installations at customer sites.
Monitor iDirect TDMA equipment configurations and report anomalies.
Open and track trouble tickets to resolve network issues.
Provide end-user training and document performance trends.
