Job summary

The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking an Equipment Operator II for the Sanitation Division. You will safely operate large-scale machinery and contribute to essential City operations. This role requires a valid Class B Texas CDL and a high school diploma, with preferred landfill experience.

Responsibilities include excavating, grading roads, loading materials, and performing routine vehicle maintenance while ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Class B Texas CDL required (A or B adds pay up to $160/month).
• Heavy equipment operations and landfill experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain State Certification in Solid Waste as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy motorized equipment including tractors, dozers, scrapers, graders, dump trucks.
• Excavate, grade access roads, and level fill dirt.
• Load and unload heavy materials and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure safety and efficiency in Sanitation Division operations.
