Job summary

City of Nacogdoches, Texas is seeking an experienced Sanitation Disposal Equipment Operator II to drive and operate heavy sanitation equipment within the City’s Public Works Department. You will be responsible for operating large machinery, maintaining safety standards, and supporting essential city operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Class B CDL (Class A/B adds monthly pay), and preferred landfill experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B Texas CDL; possession of Class A/B adds up to $160/month.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery including large tractors, dozers, trackhoes, scrapers, motor graders, compactors and dump trucks.
• Escavate, grade access roads, level fill dirt, load and unload heavy materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator II to be the engine of our Sanitation Division.

This is your chance to run large-scale machinery and have a heavy impact on essential City operations. You will safely and efficiently operate various heavy motorized equipment, including large tractors, dozers, trackhoes, scrapers, motor graders, compactors and dump trucks. Core duties involve escavating, grading access roads, level fill dirt, loading and unloading heavy materials and performing preventative maintenance.

Key Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• A valid Class B Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) is required. (Possession of a Class A or B CDL adds an additional certificate/license pay up to $160.00 per month.)
• Heavy equipment operations and landfill experience is preferred.
• Ability to obtain State Certification in Solid Waste, as required.
